Tuesday, July 13th

So my mom is running camps and we cant bring a dog in. unfortunately, he stays in his cage for 8 hours. i feel bad but there is nothing we can do. after though we went to a park my mom worked on building. it was great. he also lost a tooth! we were thinking about putting it under his pillow/thing but then decided he would probably eat it. I felt so bad! his tounge was all red and i was like "Mom Ryder is bleeding." she of course didnt believe me. but then i showed her and she was like i found a tooth! I am giving him his special bunny toy lately, but when i am home he seems to like our rug better. wha wha wha whhhhaaaaa. Okay but anyway he has been doing great. actually he has been running high today but other wise great. i think i need to spend more quality time with him though becuase he is very attached to my mom. Also if you have any tricks on training a dog please let me know! we are trying to teach him not to jump.

  1. Hey Lil!!
When he starts jumping turn your back on him and DO NOT LOOK AT HIM UNTIL HE STOPS. When he does look at him and pet him a little. Keep doing that every time he starts jumping. It really works!!!!!!

    How are you guys doing????

  2. Hi. Lil,
Ryder will bond very close to anyone who gives him his needs in life. Feeding and walking him everyday (oh and also with Ryder checking his blood and giving him Insulin) will help bond him to you.
Dogs love attention, but they have a strong need for 1)exercise (just taking him for a walk will due) and 2)discipline. He needs someone to tell him to not do this and not do that. It makes him feel secure.
Don't worry about keeping him in his cage. This is the best thing for him. Once you think he is ok out of his cage, he will show you by digging or eating something that he shouldn't that he NEEDS to be kept in his cage for his own good!
Good advice above to keep him from jumping up. Just keep consistant AND persistant and you will get it!
    Great job!

  3. Ryder is a great dog. I was lucky because I met him. Just keep loving him and he will bond with you. Remember, he hasn't even been in your home a week. He is lucky to have you as a friend. Grammy
